About The Position

Stew Leonard’s is hiring a seasonal Security Officer to provide a safe and secure environment for team members and customers, protect company assets, minimize loss, and help maximize profits. The role involves inspecting the interior and exterior of the building, responding to safety and security issues, supporting loss prevention, and delivering exceptional customer service. It requires frequent walking and standing, occasional exposure to weather, and the ability to work in extreme winter weather conditions. Occasional travel and frequent use of company vehicles are required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Entry-level position requiring 1 to 2 years of experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen standards.
• Basic knowledge of CCTV.
• Ability to be flexible with work schedules.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including winter weather.
• Ability to walk and stand frequently and tolerate occasional exposure to weather.

Nice To Haves

• Security Guard License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure the safety of all team members and customers.
• Report in-store accidents to the appropriate departments.
• Work collaboratively with other security officers.
• Control traffic safely and orderly.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Inspect the interior and exterior of the building for physical security issues.
• Ensure company safety and security standards are met to provide a safe shopping and working environment.
• Respond to situations requiring First Aid, CPR, or AED.
• Prepare incident and investigation reports.
• Educate team members about safe practices and shrink control.
• Attend and support safety and department communication meetings.
• Complete audits as directed.
• Administer First Aid or call for medical assistance when appropriate.
• Greet customers warmly and represent the store’s S.T.E.W. values in interactions.
• Collaborate with team members and offer assistance to support smooth store operations.
