About The Position

As a Security Officer Credential Validation in Polk City, Florida, you will help safeguard a utilities location by managing site entry, verifying credentials, monitoring access points, and supporting a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related concerns while delivering customer service.

This is a full-time position paying $18.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Tuesday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points at a utilities location, verify authorized access credentials, and maintain accurate visitor and contractor logs.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations calmly, following site procedures and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to identify unauthorized activity or potential operational concerns.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and emergency responders, documenting incidents, access-related activity, and unusual conditions according to site requirements.
