About The Position

Seeking an experienced professional security officer for a full-time mixed shift position in downtown Tempe, AZ, near the ASU campus. This role involves providing security and fire watch services at a construction site. The schedule includes Saturdays and Sundays from 10 PM to 6 AM, and Mondays and Tuesdays from 2 PM to 10 PM, totaling 32 hours per week. The position requires patrols of a six-floor construction site and surrounding outdoor areas, including checking fences, gates, and reporting any issues such as leaks or pipe bursts. The officer must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and interact professionally with construction crews and the public. Restroom facilities are limited to Port-o-johns. The company provides cold bottled water and sports drinks, as well as all necessary PPE including hard hats, gloves, safety vests, and safety glasses.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience working security at a construction site.
Experience with fire-watch patrols.
Must possess a current AZ guard card.
Solid work history.
Ability to use Silvertrac for report writing.
Ability to work alone or with little supervision.
Ability to walk and climb stairs during patrols.
Must wear PPE at all times.
Must pass a background check.
Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in high-rises, office complexes, HOA communities, apartment buildings, gate houses, industrial buildings and sites, commercial properties, and data centers.

Responsibilities

Conduct fire watch patrols every hour.
Perform foot patrols of the construction site areas.
Watch for theft, vandalism, homeless individuals, and unauthorized persons on site.
Write reports and document incidents using Silvertrac.
Respond to emergencies by calling 911 or non-emergency services as needed.
Interact professionally and firmly with people on campus.
De-escalate issues effectively.
Collaborate with construction crews on site.
Observe and report site issues, including leaks, pipe bursts, door checks, fence lines, gates, fires, or other emergencies.
Patrol six floors and outdoor areas, including walking and using stairs.
Wear all required PPE at all times.
