About The Position

The Security Officer maintains a secure environment for employees, visitors, and client property by monitoring and patrolling premises. The role focuses on preventing unauthorized access, detecting suspicious activity, protecting industrial or commercial properties against fire, vandalism, and illegal entry, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, security, and customer service. Clients include Class-A office buildings, luxury residential properties, distilleries, Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, telecommunications providers, manufacturing and industrial facilities, hospitals, and other organizations. Extensive initial training is provided, including preparation to earn a Security Officer Certification. Flexible scheduling is available across first, second, third, and weekend shifts. The listed pay rate is $16–$19 USD.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum age of 25 years.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with security systems, cameras, and basic office technology, such as email and Microsoft Office.
Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for long periods.
For posts requiring operation of a company vehicle, a screened motor vehicle record is required; accidents and violations are reviewed case by case.
A Security Officer License where applicable.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service; experience is not required, and training is offered.
CPR/First Aid Certification.
