About The Position

Inter-Con Security Systems is hiring a full-time Unarmed Security Officer in Houston, Texas. Officers support security operations at critical facilities and infrastructure, public venues, and other client sites. The role includes patrol and monitoring duties across a 4,000-acre site with a 12-mile perimeter and nine gates, responding to emergencies, coordinating site traffic, inspecting equipment, and preparing incident reports. Officers receive training in enhanced security procedures and safe weapons handling and marksmanship. The position may involve indoor or outdoor work, prolonged standing and walking, and varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may occur.

Requirements

Complete and pass a driving skills class as a Tier-2 driver.
Availability to work various assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to perform prolonged standing and walking as part of daily security activities.

Responsibilities

Perform all duties of Level-1 Security Officers.
Complete and pass a driving skills class as a Tier-2 driver.
Patrol and monitor the site’s 4,000 acres, 12-mile perimeter, and nine gates.
Register test vehicles transiting the site.
Respond to emergency calls, including animal or vehicle accidents, medical incidents, fires, and hazardous-materials incidents.
Prepare specific incident reports with photos via text page.
Issue hot work permits when a Level-2 officer is not on duty, subject to out-of-classification provisions.
Coordinate shipping and receiving traffic.
Escort visitors onto the property when they lack Tier-2 driving training.
Monitor deer hunters on the property.
Contact employees on a deer waiting list and escort them as needed.
Inspect oil wells and storage tanks or refinery areas.
Inspect critical site equipment readings, including temperatures, fire-system readings, and fuel levels.
Participate in the site vehicle accident team and investigate motor vehicle accidents.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Company related to the specialized duties of the position.
