Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License (+1 years)
  • 21+ years of age
  • Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
  • Ability to pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, public agency personnel, and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public access areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions that may require attention.
  • Monitor access points, observe pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and document security-related incidents, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations in accordance with post orders.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to travelers and visitors while maintaining awareness of surroundings and reporting suspicious behavior, unattended property, and/or restricted area concerns.
