About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to safeguard clients across industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use the company’s shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts according to their availability, gaining experience across various sites. The role may require working irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. Compensation is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old, or older if required by state law; 21 years old if armed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license when driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Licensing may be required before employment, depending on state or local laws and regulations.
• Must pass a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen.
• Must be reliable and able to adapt to different post assignments.
• Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Must demonstrate the ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, accurately, and informatively.
• Must have active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to assess situations, evaluate them effectively, and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Must demonstrate teamwork and attention to detail.
• The posting lists 3 years of security experience, military police, military, or law enforcement experience among its requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removals comply with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
