Security Officer - Corporate Building Part Time
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer to support a financial institution location in New York, NY. The officer will safeguard the site by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, and providing professional service and communication to employees, visitors, and guests. The role requires following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency-response activities, and documenting security-related events and activities. The position pays $19.59 per hour. The stated schedule is Monday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM, and Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Be subject to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- First Aid certification is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and vendors by following site procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency-response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including business offices, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor and document visitor access, employee entry, deliveries, and other security-related activities in accordance with site policies.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoff communications while maintaining a professional presence.
