Security Officer Part Time - Corporate Building
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a commercial real estate location in New York, NY. The officer will provide a welcoming, professional front-desk presence while supporting access control, visitor management, security communications, and an organized lobby environment. The role includes responding to inquiries and reporting concerns with integrity and care. The posted schedule is Monday 3:00 PM–7:00 PM, Friday 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, and Sunday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.30–$19.30 per hour. Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and building personnel by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Staff the front desk professionally, greet and screen visitors, verify access authorization, and maintain visitor records according to site requirements.
- Monitor lobby activity, access points, and building communication systems; report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues to appropriate personnel.
- Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, follow established procedures, and contact emergency services or site leadership as needed.
- Assist with tenant and visitor inquiries, provide directions, and support a welcoming commercial real estate environment.
