About The Position
Seeking a full-time Security Officer for the Security Department at Baptist Health Floyd. This role involves enforcing hospital regulations and ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees. The Security Officer will actively monitor and patrol hospital property, report safety hazards and unusual occurrences, investigate complaints, assist in restraining patients if necessary, and provide protective services. This is an opportunity to work in a regional, non-profit community hospital with an excellent working environment and opportunities for continued education.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year minimum experience in military, security, law enforcement, healthcare, customer service and/or International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
- BLS certification from approved BLS course required, will provide training.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Enforces Hospital regulations.
- Provides a safe and secure environment for Hospital patients, visitors and employees.
- Enforces Hospital policies and security regulations through active monitoring and patrolling of Baptist property.
- Continuously watches for and timely reports potential safety hazards and unusual occurrences in assigned areas.
- Investigates complaints or potential criminal conduct.
- Assists in restraining patients as necessary.
- Provides protective services.
