About The Position

As a Security Officer Residential Shelter in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Shelters. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a residential shelter community, maintaining a visible presence that helps deter incidents. You will conduct routine rounds, respond to security-related concerns, support residents and visitors with exceptional customer service, and communicate clearly with site contacts. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A Guard Card/License is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, building entrances, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific policies, helping to maintain an orderly residential environment.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity records, and communicate relevant observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
