As a Security Guard Residential Shelter in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Shelters. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • F02 Fire Guard beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, entrances, exits, grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and maintain awareness of conditions that may require attention or escalation.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, observations, and patrol rounds.
