About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Terminal X Ray in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener supporting a government airport development location, you will conduct access screening, monitor entry points, and help identify and report security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate professionally with visitors and personnel, and help support orderly operations. Requirements

  • Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Guard card is required.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age for role.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an airport development location.
  • Screen personnel, visitors, and authorized items entering designated areas in accordance with established access-control procedures and applicable site requirements.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency procedures and escalation protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned airport development areas and perimeter locations to help identify and report security-related concerns.
