Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus community members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Monitor access points and report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, damaged property, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with campus representatives, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.
