As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a college campus, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to alarms and access-control needs, and assist students, staff, and visitors with professionalism. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience (B201)Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management. This includes familiarity with issuing, tracking, and managing access badges for employees and visitors.
  • Alarm Panel Experience (B202)Experience with alarm panel systems is required. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of alarm system operations, troubleshooting, and response protocols.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204)Proficiency in using computers or tablets is essential. Candidates should be comfortable navigating software applications, managing emails, and utilizing digital communication tools.
  • CPR Certification Paid at Company Expense (B205)Candidates must obtain CPR certification, which will be paid for by the company. This certification is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and clients.
  • Customer Service Experience (B219)A background in customer service is required. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access to assigned areas, assist with visitor direction, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare accurate, timely activity and incident reports in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
