About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a reception desk at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Overland Park, Kansas. The officer will provide a welcoming, visible front-desk presence while supporting access control, visitor management, security communications, and incident response. The position pays $19.50 per hour and is scheduled Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, consistent with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any licensing requirements imposed by applicable state or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide a professional, welcoming front-desk presence for employees, visitors, vendors, and other guests.
Monitor facility access, verify visitor credentials and authorization, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate entry records.
Answer and direct incoming calls, provide basic site information, and communicate visitor arrivals and service requests to appropriate personnel.
Follow site-specific security procedures, including visitor management and access-control protocols, and document routine activities.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and support emergency response activities as directed.
