Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong communication and customer service while bringing agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns.
• Monitor access to the location by observing arrivals and departures, verifying authorized entry when required, and helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Support daily operations at a residential shelter location by reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or behavioral issues to appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
