As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report details according to post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help support authorized access, observe resident and visitor activity, and communicate concerns to site contacts when needed.
  • Complete routine logs, incident reports, and/or other required documentation, and communicate clearly with residents, staff, visitors, and Allied Universal personnel regarding security-related matters.
