About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Branch Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across industries such as healthcare, education, finance, and retail. The role provides experience across diverse work environments and may offer opportunities for career advancement. The position is based in Independence, Ohio, and pays $17.32 per hour.

The officer will work 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary week to week through manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly. Irregular shifts may be assigned with little to no advance notice to support client needs.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be able to travel the required distance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations.
• Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
