About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for a public utilities facility in Sparks, Nevada. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. The officer will help safeguard the site by conducting routine patrols, monitoring access points, maintaining a visible security presence, and supporting site operations through customer service and clear communication.

The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $23.00 per hour. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license, required under Allied Universal driver policy for this driving position.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and members of the public while following site-specific security procedures and supporting emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, administrative areas, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain required logs and documentation.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and prepare clear incident reports.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, damaged property, unsecured access points, and potential hazards affecting water utility operations.
