About The Position

As a Security Officer at Westgate Resorts, you help keep our resort safe, secure, and welcoming. This role blends security responsibilities with hospitality focused service, ensuring our guests, team members, and property are protected while creating a friendly and supportive environment. You maintain a visible presence, manage access points, respond to police, fire, or medical situations, and complete safety inspections and incident reports. By working closely with public safety partners and resort leadership, you help ensure everyone feels safe and cared for. Requirements

  • Serve as the first responder to police, fire, and medical incidents within the scope of Security Officer duties.
  • Maintain a visible, uniformed security presence across assigned resort areas.
  • Control access at designated entry and exit points.
  • Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and fire alarm panels, in compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Conduct routine safety and security inspections following established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate security records, logs, and checklists.
  • Prepare clear, timely, and detailed incident reports using computer systems and email.
  • Assist guests and team members with security related concerns and service requests.
  • Manage lost and found inventory, key control, and accountability.
  • Perform traffic control, parking enforcement, assist public safety officers, and complete other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the initial response to all incidents of a Police, Fire or Medical nature and act accordingly within the scope of duties as a Security Officer.
  • Maintain a uniformed security presence at specified company interests.
  • Manage entry and exit control points at designated properties.
  • Monitor a proprietary monitoring station or front desk (fire alarm panel) as required by law and monitor Security surveillance system.
  • Conduct safety inspections as directed by policy and established procedure.
  • Maintain individual Security activity records, checklists and logs.
  • Write detailed and accurate incident reports as required using computer skills and emails.
  • Respond to basic service requests and perform preventative maintenance on the electronic guest room security system and in-room electronic safes if applicable.
  • Perform lost and found inventory control tasks.
  • Perform traffic control and parking enforcement duties as required.
  • Respond to any security related complaints and take appropriate actions.
  • Assist public safety officers in the performance of their duties as requested and/or required.
  • Perform key control and accounting duties.
  • Perform any other task, requested by management, within the scope of corporate policy.
