Security Officer Full Time Financial Corporate Building
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer at a financial corporate building in San Diego, California. The officer will safeguard employees, visitors, and contractors at a financial institution by managing access points, verifying credentials, monitoring activity, conducting patrols, and providing customer service. The role also involves responding to incidents and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate, in accordance with site policies and established escalation and reporting procedures. The listed schedule is Monday through Wednesday and Saturday through Sunday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The pay rate is $23.00 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements vary by state and locality and may be required before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor access materials, and maintain accurate access-related records.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
- Observe activity at assigned access points and communicate unusual conditions to appropriate personnel to help deter unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including entrances, common areas, and the business perimeter.
