About The Position

As a Security Officer Checkpoint Examiner in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. At a busy logistics and distribution location, Allied Universal Screeners help support a secure environment by monitoring entry points, screening packages and personnel, and handling badge access with professionalism. You will remain visible, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors, packages, and/or deliveries entering or leaving the location in accordance with site-specific screening procedures and chain of custody practices.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations, screening results, and unusual activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Monitor entry points, verify credentials, and help to deter unauthorized access to shipping, receiving, sorting, and other restricted areas within the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with attention to screening areas, loading zones, docks, and other high-traffic operational spaces.
