Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 or more months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government services location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership and/or appropriate public agency contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, surrounding grounds, entry points, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, verify authorized entry when required, and provide visible support during resident movement, visitor check-in, and/or deliveries.
  • Support order within the location by following post orders, communicating clearly with staff and/or first responders, and assisting with de-escalation when appropriate.
