Security Officer Transitional Housing
About The Position
As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Experience Required in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. In this role, you will support daily operations with a caring, agile, and reliable approach, working as part of a team and always acting with integrity.
Requirements
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and/or emergency response activities at a government services location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or urgent situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, common areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor visitor, staff, and resident movement in accordance with location policies, assisting with directions, de-escalation support, and/or communication during high-traffic periods.
- Support order at the location by observing daily activity, following post instructions, and coordinating with site personnel and first responders when appropriate.
