Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • This is primarily a driving post.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, riders, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transit location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report relevant details to site contacts and/or public agency personnel as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, offices, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and high-traffic public areas, assist with directional information, and help to address concerns involving visitors, employees, and/or contractors.
  • Complete required documentation on daily activities, incidents, and observations, and communicate clearly with supervisors and local personnel regarding security-related matters.
