About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed patrol Security Officer for a utility-facility assignment in Fairfax, Virginia. The role provides a designated site and weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The position pays $18.22 per hour and is primarily a driving post. The listed schedule is Wednesday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Possess a valid driver’s license for driving positions.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and utility personnel by following site-specific security procedures and, when appropriate, responding to emergencies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, grounds, access points, perimeter areas, and parking locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to assigned locations, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain required entry, exit, and incident documentation.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, service calls, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Report hazards, damaged property, suspicious activity, and other security-related concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
