The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling all areas of the property, assisting guests with room access, and monitoring various security systems including Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems. This role involves securing property entrances, conducting daily physical hazard inspections, and responding to accidents by contacting EMS or administering first aid/CPR. The officer will assist guests and employees during emergencies, notify appropriate individuals of incidents, and defuse disturbances. Responsibilities also include calling for outside assistance when necessary, completing incident reports, handling interruptions and complaints, and resolving safety hazard situations. The role requires escorting unwelcome persons from the property, reporting to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts, and using proper code responses. A key part of the job is completing a Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report and maintaining the confidentiality of all security and property reports and documents, releasing information only to authorized individuals. The officer will also conduct investigations, gather evidence, and conduct interviews. Additionally, the role requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, completing safety training, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and providing excellent guest service according to company standards. This includes anticipating and addressing guest needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation to guests. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential, as is developing and maintaining positive working relationships and supporting team goals. The position requires the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, read and visually verify information, inspect tools and equipment, use computers, move at a speed required to respond to work situations, and perform tasks involving fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects, with specific weight limits and the need for assistance for heavier items. The role may also involve moving through narrow or elevated spaces, over uneven surfaces, and reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Other reasonable duties may be requested by supervisors. Some states may have additional licensing or registration requirements.
