Requirements

  • Hold a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or members of the public at a government transportation location by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies.
  • Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, screening authorized visitors, maintaining visitor logs, and directing individuals in accordance with established procedures.
  • Respond to access-related incidents, unauthorized entry attempts, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to visitor activity, incidents, access control, and/or shift observations.
