About the Role As a Security Officer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a secure hospital environment by patrolling assigned areas, responding to incidents, and supporting both safety and patient care. You’ll be part of a team that values professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • A current Massachusetts driver’s license
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Recognize, acknowledge, respect, and effectively interact with all people, establish positive relationships, and gain the trust and respect of others.
  • Ability to deal with and effectively deescalate anxious/stressed people and manage aggression.
  • Works effectively both independently and in teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
  • Experience in hospital, security/police, emergency medical or customer services preferred
  • 3-5 years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Patrol hospital grounds and facilities, with special attention to areas with known security concerns.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or improperly secured property to prevent theft, injury, or damage.
  • Respond to and investigate complaints, potential criminal activity, and safety incidents.
  • Assist in restraining patients when necessary and respond to medical emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs.
  • Dispatch security personnel using integrated security systems.
  • Support dignitary protection, traffic control, and workplace/domestic safety situations.
  • Participate voluntarily in departmental committees and initiatives.
