About The Position

Seeking an experienced construction security officer for a part-time opening in a downtown Phoenix location. This is a temporary opening for 1-2 months, specifically for Saturday nights from 6pm to 5am (an 11-hour shift). The role involves working security on a construction site, requiring knowledge of safety and OSHA standards. The officer will be responsible for various duties including using Silvertrac for Daily Activity Reports (DARs), conducting patrols, monitoring gates and fence lines, preventing unauthorized access, watching for emergencies like fires, performing firewatch duties, reporting issues, and keeping unauthorized individuals off the site. The position requires the ability to work alone, handle difficult situations and individuals with respect, and maintain a high level of awareness. The work environment is primarily outdoors at a construction site for a 17-floor building, involving walking stairs and patrols. Free parking is provided.

Requirements

  • Experienced construction security officer
  • Firewatch experience
  • AZ guard card
  • Knowledge of safety and OSHA standards for construction sites
  • Ability to work alone
  • Ability to handle homeless persons with respect and care
  • Ability to walk stairs, up and down a few times a shift
  • Must be in good physical shape/fit
  • Ability to handle high stress situations
  • Ability to handle difficult people
  • Current AZ guard card

Responsibilities

  • Using Silvertrac for DARs
  • Conducting 2 entries per hour
  • Patrolling the fenced areas
  • Working outside on shift
  • Checking all gates and fence lines
  • Preventing unauthorized access during off-hours
  • Watching for fires or other emergencies
  • Performing firewatch duties every 2-3 hours
  • Conducting security patrols twice an hour
  • Reporting all pipe leaks and issues as needed
  • Keeping vagrants/homeless people off site and away from construction areas
  • Walking stairs
  • Watching for theft, vandals, unauthorized people, and homeless persons trying to gain entry
  • Using Silvertrac for reporting hourly and incident reports
  • Patrolling and checking two areas an hour on Silvertrac
  • Working alone or the whole shift without supervision
  • Calling 911 as needed or police, fire, or ambulance
  • Watching for fence jumpers and keeping people out of the site
  • Answering the site phone
  • Being detailed, aware, and alert at all times
  • Performing walking patrols every hour, walking up and down stairs and fence lines
  • Handling homeless persons with respect and care
  • Walking stairs, up and down a few times a shift
  • Performing walking, foot patrols
  • Working alone overnights
  • Handling high-stress situations
  • Handling difficult people
  • Wearing hardhat and safety vest at all times while on duty
