About The Position

Seeking an experienced construction security officer for a part-time opening in a downtown Phoenix location. This is a temporary opening for 1-2 months, specifically for Saturday nights. The role involves working outside on an 11-hour shift from 6pm to 5am, patrolling fenced areas, monitoring for emergencies, and ensuring site security. The officer will be responsible for using Silvertrac for daily activity reports and incident reports, checking gates and fence lines, preventing unauthorized access, and reporting any issues. This position requires the ability to work alone, handle potentially difficult situations with respect, and maintain a high level of awareness. The work environment is a 17-floor building with stairs only, requiring the ability to walk stairs multiple times per shift. Safety gear, including a hard hat and safety vest, will be provided.

Requirements

Must have security construction experience
Must have firewatch experience
Must have an AZ guard card
Must be able to work alone
Must be able to handle homeless persons with respect and care
Must be able to walk stairs, up and down a few times a shift
Must be in good physical shape/fit
Must be able to handle high stress situations
Must be able to handle difficult people
Must wear hardhat, safety vest at all times while on site on duty
Must have a current AZ guard card

Nice To Haves

Experience in working security on a construction site
Knowledge of safety and OSHA standards for working at a construction site

Responsibilities

Using Silvertrac for DARs, 2 entries per hour
Patrol the fenced areas
Check all gates and fence lines
Prevent unauthorized access to the site during off-hours
Watch for fires or other emergencies
Perform firewatch every 2-3 hours
Conduct security patrols twice an hour
Report all pipe leaks and other issues as needed
Keep vagrants/homeless people off site and away from construction areas, closed sidewalk, and office areas
Walk stairs
Watch for theft, vandals, unauthorized people, and homeless persons trying to gain entry
Be able to use Silvertrac for reporting hourly and incident reports
Patrolling and checking two areas an hour on Silvertrac
Work mostly alone or the whole shift without supervision
Call 911 as needed or call police, fire or ambulance
Watch for fence jumpers and keep people out of the site
Answer the site phone as calls may come in overnight
Be detailed, aware, and alert at all times
Perform walking patrols every hour, walking up and down stairs and fence lines
