About The Position

Seeking an experienced construction security officer for a part-time opening. This role is for a security officer day shift at a construction site in downtown Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have experience in working security on a construction site and knowledge of safety and OSHA standards. The position requires working outside for the duration of the shift, patrolling fenced areas, checking gates and fence lines, and preventing unauthorized access. Responsibilities include monitoring for fires and other emergencies, performing fire watch duties, reporting issues, and managing the presence of vagrants or homeless individuals. The role involves detailed reporting using Silvertrac for daily activity reports (DARs) and incident reports, with a requirement of two entries per hour. The officer will often work alone without direct supervision and must be prepared to call emergency services when necessary. Duties also include answering the site phone, watching for theft, vandals, and unauthorized individuals, and conducting hourly walking patrols, including up and down stairs and along fence lines.

Requirements

Must have security construction experience
Must have an AZ guard card
Must be able to work alone and handle homeless persons with respect and care
Be able to walk stairs, up and down a few times a shift
Must be in good physical shape/ fit
Be able to handle high stress situations and be able to handle difficult people
Must wear hardhat, safety vest at all times while on site on duty

Nice To Haves

Experience in working security on a construction site
Know safety and OSHA standards for working at a construction site

Responsibilities

Using Silvertrac for DARs, 2 entries per hour
Patrol the fenced areas
Working outside on your shift
Check all gates and fence lines
Do not let anyone on site on off hours
Watch for fires or other emergencies
Firewatch, every 3-4 hours
Report all pipe leaks, issues as needed
Keep vagrants/homeless people off site and away from the construction areas and their closed sidewalk and office areas
Walking stairs
Watch for theft, vandals, unauthorized people
Be able to use Silvertrac for reporting hourly and incident reports
Patrolling and checking two areas an hour on Silvertrac
Work mostly alone or the whole shift without supervision
Call 911 as needed or call police, fire or ambulance
Watching for fence jumpers or and keeping people out of the site
Answer the site phone as calls may come in overnight
Be detailed, aware, and alert at all times
Walking patrols every hour, walking up and down stairs, fence lines
