About The Position

Seeking an experienced construction security officer for a part-time opening. This role is for every Sunday day shift, from 5 am to 6 pm, totaling a 13-hour shift. The position is located in downtown Phoenix with free parking included. The primary focus is providing security at a construction site, requiring knowledge of safety and OSHA standards relevant to construction environments. The officer will work independently for most of the shift, requiring self-reliance and the ability to handle stressful situations and difficult individuals with respect and care. The work environment involves patrolling a 17-floor building site, including walking stairs multiple times per shift, and working outdoors. The officer will be responsible for using Silvertrac for daily activity reports (DARs) and incident reports, conducting hourly patrols, checking gates and fence lines, preventing unauthorized access during off-hours, performing fire watch duties, reporting site issues, and managing the site phone. The role also involves keeping unauthorized individuals off the site and away from construction areas and adjacent properties.

Requirements

  • Must have security construction experience.
  • Must have an AZ guard card.
  • Must be able to work alone.
  • Must be in good physical shape/fit.
  • Must wear a hardhat and safety vest at all times while on site on duty.
  • Must have a current AZ guard card.

  • Experience in working security on a construction site.

Responsibilities

  • Using Silvertrac for DARs and reporting hourly and incident reports.
  • Patrolling the fenced areas, checking two areas per hour on Silvertrac.
  • Working outside on your shift.
  • Checking all gates and fence lines.
  • Preventing unauthorized access during off-hours.
  • Performing firewatch duties every 3-4 hours.
  • Reporting all pipe leaks and other issues as needed.
  • Keeping vagrants/homeless people off site and away from construction areas and their closed sidewalk and office areas.
  • Walking stairs, up and down a few times a shift.
  • Watching for theft, vandals, and unauthorized people.
  • Calling 911 as needed or calling police, fire, or ambulance.
  • Watching for fence jumpers and keeping people out of the site.
  • Answering the site phone as calls may come in.
  • Being detailed, aware, and alert at all times.
  • Conducting walking patrols every hour, including walking up and down stairs and fence lines.
  • Handling homeless persons with respect and care.
  • Handling high-stress situations and difficult people.
