As an unarmed Security Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry points, checking credentials when required, and reporting access concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and campus contacts.
