As a Security Officer - Highrise Office Tower in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access awareness, assist guests and tenants with professionalism, and use strong communication while contributing to a caring, reliable, and teamwork-driven culture built on integrity and innovation.

Requirements

Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter points, helping to identify unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns.
Monitor access points and observe activity across the property, helping to deter unauthorized access, disorderly conduct, and/or policy violations through visible presence and professional interaction.
Support retail and public-facing operations by providing directions, answering questions, and reporting hazards, suspicious behavior, and/or customer service issues to the appropriate personnel.
