About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol a retail and neighborhood setting in Newport Beach, California. The role involves routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and supporting a welcoming environment for residents, guests, visitors, and retail patrons. This is a driving position requiring a valid driver’s license and strong customer service and communication skills. The posted schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 2:15 PM–10:45 PM. Pay is $21.50 per hour.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located is required for this driving position.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and retail patrons by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally; communicate observations and incidents to appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed vehicle and foot patrols throughout neighborhood retail areas, common spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, parking activity, and property conditions; report hazards, maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports while representing Allied Universal courteously and professionally.
