As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Screening in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and drivers. You will provide outstanding customer service while contributing to Allied Universal’s caring, reliable, and integrity-driven team culture.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, delivery-related issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, loading and unloading areas, parking areas, access points, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by observing entry and exit activity, verifying credentials as directed, and documenting visitor, contractor, and vehicle information.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, patrol observations, and unusual conditions, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
