About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer serves and safeguards clients across industries, including healthcare, education, finance, and retail. The role offers hands-on experience at diverse sites and opportunities to build a foundation for career advancement in the security industry.

The position is based in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and pays $19.07 per hour. Work is scheduled for 30–40 hours per week, with a schedule that varies based on manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly. Officers may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to support client needs.

The Security Officer conducts unarmed patrols and helps protect clients, employees, visitors, and property. The role requires availability for varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel required distances. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local laws.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations, and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal meets client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
