About The Position

St. Moritz Security Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and adaptable Flex Security Officer to provide coverage at multiple client sites throughout Chicago and nearby suburbs. Assignments vary according to operational needs, including call-offs, vacations, or special coverage requests, and may be scheduled in advance or on the same day. Officers must adjust to new environments and site-specific post orders while providing consistent safety, security, and customer service. The position requires frequent travel between sites for day trips. Sites may include office buildings, residential properties, retail centers, industrial locations, and event venues. The role is as-needed, with open availability required for days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour; additional hours may be available depending on performance and staffing needs.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Own a reliable vehicle, as frequent travel between sites is required.
• Previous security experience; experience in flex, mobile patrol, or multi-site roles is preferred.
• Active Illinois PERC guard card.
• Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Training certificate.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with open availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform patrol duties in varying weather conditions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, observant, and professional in high-pressure or rapidly changing situations.
• Dependability, punctuality, and ability to respond to coverage requests on short notice when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site security coverage at different locations throughout Chicago and nearby suburbs.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols, monitor surveillance equipment, and perform access control duties.
• Greet and assist visitors, employees, and contractors professionally and courteously.
• Prepare clear, detailed daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required site documentation.
• Enforce site-specific rules, policies, and safety procedures.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security-related concerns.
• Maintain communication with dispatch, supervisors, and site management throughout each shift.
• Adapt to changing post orders and expectations across assignments.
• Represent the company with professionalism, reliability, and integrity.
