Security Officer Roving Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed roving patrol Security Officer for a commercial real estate location in East Durham, New York. The officer conducts routine patrols, maintains a visible presence to help deter incidents, responds to security-related concerns, and provides customer service and clear communication to support a welcoming environment. The position is scheduled Tuesday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at a pay rate of $22.38 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply depending on state and local laws. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements imposed by applicable state or local laws and regulations.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property interiors, exterior areas, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor credentials as directed, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and visitor records.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, hazards, suspicious activity, and other security-related issues to appropriate personnel while maintaining a professional presence.
