As a Hospital Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high profile healthcare customer. The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the client’s healthcare premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Hospital Security Professional detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observes and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures and healthcare location policies.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
  • Monitor access points, assist with visitor directions and/or access procedures, and report suspicious activity or policy violations.
  • Document patrol activity and incidents accurately, and coordinate with healthcare staff, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
