As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Presence in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, guests, and staff through strong customer service and communication. Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, exterior grounds, entry points, and perimeter spaces, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor entrances, common areas, and high-traffic spaces within the shelter environment, verifying authorized movement when required and addressing policy questions in a professional manner.
• Support daily shelter operations by assisting with access control, maintaining a visible presence, and communicating respectfully with individuals who may require direction, de-escalation, and/or additional assistance.
