As a Security Officer Full Time Hospital in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. You will communicate professionally, respond to concerns, and support a welcoming environment while working with a reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout hospital buildings, parking areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter, reporting unusual conditions or maintenance concerns.
Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
Help to deter unauthorized access, disruptive behavior, and prohibited activity by monitoring designated areas, checking access points, and maintaining a professional presence.
Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and observations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and responding personnel.
