About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Specialist for an assigned financial institution location in Totowa, New Jersey. The position provides a fixed weekly shift as a reliable base schedule, with a required six-month commitment. Employees may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, potentially building up to 40 hours per week while retaining the option to scale back. The stated schedule is Monday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. Pay is $21.25 per hour.

The officer provides customer service and carries out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities. Duties include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials and visitor authorization, issuing visitor passes, maintaining access records, responding to incidents and alarms, conducting patrols, assisting visitors, and reporting relevant maintenance or security concerns.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors while carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a financial institution.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the business perimeter to identify unauthorized access or other security concerns.
• Provide directions, assist with visitor management, and report maintenance or security-related issues to appropriate personnel.
