About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for access control in Temple, Texas. The role provides a designated site and fixed weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. The assigned shift is Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to increase hours up to 40 per week and later scale back. The pay rate is $16.79 per hour.

The officer supports a safe and welcoming commercial property by managing access, monitoring and recording visitor and contractor entry, responding to incidents and alarms, and conducting regular and random patrols. The position requires professional communication and appropriate escalation of security concerns. Employment is contingent on applicable background investigation and drug screening. Licensing may be required under state or local rules.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local security licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while following access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, common areas, parking facilities, and perimeter locations, identifying and reporting security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with building occupants and visitors, deter unauthorized access, and support a welcoming environment.
