As a Airport Security Officer in Kailua-Kona, HI, you will safeguard the airport, staff, and it's facilities. Along with driving, patrolling, checking, and securing doors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to all visitors and staff. Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (+1 years)
• 21+ years of age
• Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
• Ability to pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate for a public transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating with site contacts and public agency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public access areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report concerns.
• Monitor entry points, restricted areas, and/or visitor activity in accordance with post orders and location protocols for a government-operated facility.
• Prepare clear, timely reports of patrol findings, incidents, and/or observed hazards, and assist with access control and directional support for travelers, visitors, and staff.
• Safeguard the airport, staff, and its facilities.
• Drive, patrol, check, and secure doors.
