About The Position

As a Security Officer Full Time Badge Verification in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact professionally with employees, visitors, and drivers while supporting a welcoming, well-organized environment. Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by TSA.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a marine terminal location.
• Monitor and control access points, verify identification and authorization, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access logs and related documentation.
• Screen incoming and outgoing vehicles, deliveries, and personnel in accordance with site procedures; communicate entry requirements and direct authorized traffic to appropriate areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, operational areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report observed conditions.
