About The Position

Seeking an experienced construction security officer for a part-time opening. This role involves providing security for a busy downtown construction site, including patrols, fire watch, and monitoring for emergencies and unauthorized access. The position requires working outdoors, often alone, and involves physical activity such as walking and climbing stairs in a 17-floor building. Candidates must be able to handle stressful situations and difficult individuals with respect and care.

Requirements

Must have security construction experience.
Must have an AZ guard card.
Must have experience working security on a construction site.
Must have experience doing fire watch on a construction site.
Must know safety and OSHA standards for working at a construction site.
Must be able to work alone and handle homeless persons with respect and care.
Must be able to walk stairs (up to 17 floors, though not all floors each night).
Must be in good physical shape/fit.
Must be able to handle high stress situations.
Must be able to handle difficult people.
Must wear hardhat, safety vest, and PPE at all times while on duty (supplied).
Must have a current AZ guard card.

Responsibilities

Using Silvertrac for Daily Activity Reports (DARs), with 2 entries per hour.
Patrolling the fenced areas of the construction site.
Working outdoors during the assigned shift.
Checking all gates and fence lines for security.
Preventing unauthorized access to the site, especially overnight.
Watching for fires or other emergencies.
Performing fire watch duties every 3-4 hours, with property patrols twice an hour.
Reporting all pipe leaks and other site issues as needed.
Keeping vagrants/homeless people off the site and away from construction areas, closed sidewalks, and office areas.
Walking stairs (up to 17 floors) as required for patrols.
Watching for theft, vandalism, and unauthorized individuals.
Using Silvertrac for hourly reporting and incident reports.
Patrolling and checking two areas per hour, logged in Silvertrac.
Working alone or the whole shift without direct supervision.
Calling 911 or other emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) as needed.
Watching for fence jumpers and keeping people out of the site.
Answering the site phone for incoming calls, especially overnight.
Being detailed, aware, and alert at all times.
Conducting walking patrols every hour, including walking up and down stairs.
