About The Position

Under the supervision of a shift lieutenant, the Security Officer performs physical security and resource protection tasks and activities at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The role is on-site and includes fixed-post duties, access control, patrols, crime prevention, and initial responses and reporting for accidents or incidents.

Requirements

• Successfully complete a pre-employment fitness test covering cardiovascular endurance (300-meter and 1-mile runs) and muscular strength/endurance (push-ups and sit-ups).
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to obtain a Tennessee Armed Security Guard/Officer License.
• Be able to maintain qualification and authority to carry firearms.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have completed a U.S. Military Law Enforcement Academy or accredited civilian Law Enforcement Academy and submit documentation of completion.
• Present a professional image in accordance with Air Force Instruction 31-122, Dress and Appearance Standards.

Responsibilities

• Man fixed posts at the installation.
• Perform entry control at base access gates and ensure only credentialed personnel are permitted access to Arnold Air Force Base.
• Conduct mobile and foot patrols to help ensure base facilities and areas are secure.
• Maintain a presence for crime prevention and deterrence.
• Provide initial responses to major accidents or incidents, conduct initial investigations, and complete required forms and reports.
